This is a video Rusty shot of a giant electric
eel. (Peruvian Amazon) The native captured it to feed his
family. Still alive while being lifted into the canoe, they could
only touch it with their paddles to protect themselves from getting
shocked.
Electric eels have cells called electrocytes which store power like
tiny batteries. These cells will discharge simultaneously when threatened
or attacking prey, emitting a burst of at least 600 volts, 5x the
power of a standard U.S. wall socket.
A 90 year old Shaman,
a healer in her village. She healed Rusty after a fly inserted
eggs into his finger and they were hatching out of him over the
course of a year.
